Valve Seat and Guide Milling Machine Ø18-60mm — FRECAB

The valve seat machining equipment is used to mill and recondition valve seats and guides in engine cylinder heads. It corrects wear, scratches and deformations that prevent perfect valve seating. The FRECAB milling machine works with valves from Ø0.7 to 2.4 inches (Ø18 to 60mm), serving from small cars to heavy-duty engines. The FRECAB milling machine accepts cylinder heads up to 47.2 inches (1,200mm) length by 13.8 inches (350mm) width (maximum longitudinal x transversal). The vertical stroke in the column is 17.3 inches (440mm) and the distance from spindle axis to cylinder head support base is 11 inches (280mm). This allows working with V6, V8 and even some truck engine heads. The 1.5hp motor offers variable speed from 30 to 330rpm, ensuring necessary torque to machine valve seats with precision in any material.

This milling machine can handle valve seats from Ø0.7 inches to 2.4 inches (Ø18mm to 60mm). This covers virtually all automotive engines, from small 1.0L cars (small valves) to V8 and heavy-duty diesel engines (large valves). The Morse 4 taper in the tool holder spindle accepts various types of cutters and special tools. With 7.1 inches (180mm) sleeve stroke and variable speed, you can work from small intake valves to large engine exhaust valves with the same machine.

The manual milling machine like the FRECAB requires the operator to control all movements and adjustments, giving total control over the process. The automatic makes programmed cuts by itself. Manual is more versatile for different repairs and varied cylinder heads, while automatic is better for series production. The process starts by securing the cylinder head on the base with compressed air (87 PSI/6 bar). Position the tool in the Morse 4 taper and adjust speed between 30-330rpm according to material. The table rotates 360° to align each valve and tilts ±12° for correct seat angle. The cutter removes thin layers of worn material, restoring smooth surface and precise angle. The 7.1 inches (180mm) sleeve stroke allows fine depth control. The included tool grinder keeps cutting tools always sharp.

Maintenance includes regular lubrication of moving points, checking compressed air pressure (maintain 87 PSI/6 bar), cleaning after use and sharpening tools in the included grinder. Check table alignment periodically and keep guides clean. The 1.5hp motor is robust but needs preventive electrical maintenance. At 2,116 lb (960kg) weight, the machine is stable but needs leveled foundation. Following these practices, the FRECAB maintains precision for many years of intensive use.
