The RVC-1000M accepts crankshafts from various engines: passenger cars, utilities, light trucks, agricultural tractors, generators and industrial engines up to 17.3 inches (440mm) maximum diameter and 39 inches (1000mm) length. Adjustable steady rests support journals from 2.4 to 3.5 inches (60-90mm). It's ideal for shops serving mixed fleets, from 1.0L engines to medium-sized diesel engines. The 6-inch universal chuck capacity ensures secure clamping.

The main difference is in the feed system: manual uses handwheels to control grinding wheel movement, while hydraulic has automatic feeds controlled by valves. The manual RVC-1000M requires more operator skill but offers total control and lower maintenance costs. Hydraulic is faster for serial production but has greater complexity and cost. For medium-sized shops, manual offers better cost-benefit ratio and versatility.

The process starts by mounting the crankshaft between centers and centering with dial indicator. The crankshaft rotates between 40-100 rpm via electronic variator, while the 24-inch (609.6mm) grinding wheel spins at 1410 rpm. The operator manually approaches the wheel and makes controlled passes with 0.24-inch (6mm) micrometric feed per turn. Constant coolant prevents overheating. Final finishing requires fine passes until reaching desired dimension with professional precision.

Maintenance includes regular lubrication of bearings and ways, coolant system cleaning, periodic wheel balancing and dressing with diamond device. Check chuck alignment, calibrate dial indicators and keep steady rests adjusted. The RVC-1000M comes with manual oil pump and service tools. The 3hp motor requires brush inspection.
