An engine block resurfacing machine is used to correct warpage and unevenness on the engine block surface, mainly on the face where the cylinder head sits. The process removes material from the surface, eliminating distortions caused by overheating or natural wear. The RSP-1200H works with blocks and heads up to 47 inches (1200mm) in length, offering precise finishing through both milling (carbide tool) and grinding (segmented wheel). The RSP-1200H has a table with total surface of 75×18 inches (1900×460mm) and working surface of 51×14 inches (1300×360mm). Maximum block or head length for resurfacing is 47 inches (1200mm), maximum width for grinding is 16.5 inches (420mm) and for milling is 11.4 inches (290mm). Maximum height between table and grinding wheel plate is 31 inches (790mm). These dimensions allow working with engines from small cars to medium trucks, including V6, V8 and medium-sized diesel engines. The machine handles both blocks and heads within the same dimensional capacity.

With maximum length of 47 inches (1200mm) and width of 16.5 inches (420mm), the machine works with domestic and imported car engines, pickups, SUVs, vans and light to medium trucks. It handles 4, 6 and 8 cylinder inline engines, V6 and V8 engines, plus diesel engines from agricultural machinery and medium-sized generators. The 31-inch (790mm) height accommodates tall blocks like American V8s. Both cast iron and aluminum blocks can be resurfaced, adjusting variable rotation from 170 to 1200 RPM according to material and tool type.

The main difference is the table feed system. Manual planer requires the operator to turn a handwheel to move the table, controlling cutting speed and pressure with arm strength. The hydraulic planer like the RSP-1200H has automatic table feed up to 146 IPM (3700mm/min) via 1.5hp hydraulic system, ensuring constant speed and uniform finish. Hydraulic feed reduces operator fatigue, increases productivity and offers better quality control, especially on long workpieces where maintaining constant manual speed is difficult.

The block is secured on the table with parallel blocks and clamps. The operator adjusts the grinding head height according to the amount of material to remove. The table advances hydraulically while the carbide tool or grinding wheel rotates between 170-1200 RPM, removing thin layers from the surface. The 20-gallon (75-liter) cooling system maintains controlled temperature. Dial indicator checks flatness during the process. Variable rotation allows using carbide tool (low speed) for fine finishing or segmented wheel (high speed) for rapid material removal.

Daily maintenance includes cleaning chips from table, checking hydraulic oil level and changing cutting fluid when cloudy. Weekly, lubricate table ways and verify tightness of clamping studs. Monthly, check grinding wheel balance with supplied balancer, align dial indicator and inspect hydraulic hoses. Every 6 months, change hydraulic system filters and service the 8.62hp motor. Maintaining these routines ensures flatness precision and extended component life of the machine.
