This power and speed specification is suitable for professional valve seat reconditioning on cylinder heads from cars, motorcycles and utility vehicles in the shop.

The RPE machine works with automotive cylinder heads in general - passenger cars, motorcycles, light utilities and some smaller trucks. It serves gasoline, alcohol, flex and light diesel engines. The 150W power is sized for intake and exhaust valves of conventional engines, covering most vehicles that arrive at the machine shop. Not recommended for heavy industrial engines.

The manual grinder like the RPE is operated entirely by the mechanic, who controls pressure and movement by hand. The pneumatic uses compressed air to automatically apply cutting pressure. Manual gives more control and precision in finishing, being preferred for delicate work. Pneumatic is faster in high production, but requires compressor and costs more. For medium machine shops, the manual RPE offers better cost-benefit.

The process begins by removing the valve from cylinder head and cleaning the seat. The RPE uses abrasive stones that rotate at 2,960 rpm while operator presses against the valve seat. The rotary movement and controlled pressure remove worn material, creating smooth surface at correct angle. Then test the seating with valve and lapping compound to ensure perfect sealing.

A well-maintained grinder lasts many years of shop use. Basic maintenance includes cleaning after use, periodic bearing lubrication and motor brush replacement when necessary. Abrasive stones wear with use and need replacement or resharpening. Keeping the RPE clean and well-lubricated ensures long service life and work precision.
