The table milling planer is used to machine large metal parts, making flat surfaces and precise cuts. It's widely used in metallurgical shops and heavy workshops to work with parts up to 13.1 ft (4 meters) in length. The PF - 4.0 E model can handle parts up to 8,800 lb (4 tons) on the table, being ideal for machining machine bases, metal structures and large industrial components that don't fit in conventional milling machines.

The PF - 4.0 E milling planer has machining capacity of 157 x 39 x 39 inches (4,000 x 1,000 x 1,000 mm), with table dimensions of 157 x 29 inches (4,000 x 730 mm) supporting up to 8,800 lb (4 tons) distributed. The R-12 milling head offers 12 speeds from 85 to 1,100 rpm with 5.0 or 8.0 hp motor depending on assembly. The machine weighs 14,770 lb (6,700 kg) and measures 28.5 x 9.2 x 8.5 ft (8.7 x 2.8 x 2.6 m) in operation, being one of the largest planers available in the national market.

The PF - 4.0 E table milling planer accepts ISO 40 or ISO 50 taper in the main R-12 milling head, allowing use of cutters in various sizes. The lateral R-2 head works with ISO 40 taper. It also has angular sub-head for milling at 90 degrees, adaptable to R-12 head with ISO 40 taper. This variety of tapers allows working from small cutters to large tools for heavy roughing operations.

The main difference is in feeds: manual planer requires operator moving table and crossrail by hand, while automatic has motors for that. The PF - 4.0 E model comes with automatic table feeds (12 speeds from 2.4 to 82.7 IPM or 60 to 2,100 mm/min) and optional motorized vertical feed. Cross feed is manual in standard, but can have optional motor. Automatic increases precision and productivity, especially on large parts requiring long machining time.

The process starts by fixing the workpiece on the 13.1 ft (4 meter) table of the PF - 4.0 E. The R-12 milling head can tilt 45° each side, allowing angled machining. The table moves longitudinally while the cutter rotates, removing material from surface. Automatic feed ensures uniform finish. For cuts, motorized vertical feed is used. The coolant system with 0.12 hp pump and 3.96 gal (15 liter) reservoir keeps workpiece and tool cooled during operation.

Maintenance of the PF - 4.0 E includes automatic lubrication of ways and internal head pump, making care easier. It's essential to regularly check coolant system, change reducer oil and inspect hardened and ground gears. Being a 14,770 lb (6,700 kg) machine, it needs well-leveled base and adequate foundations on 5 support feet. Preventive maintenance increases service life and maintains dimensional precision of machined parts.
