The PF-1.5E planer milling machine accepts workpieces with maximum dimensions of 63x26.4x30.3 inches (1600x670x770mm) in length x width x height. The table measures 63x21.7 inches (1600x550mm) and supports up to 2200 lb (1000kg) distributed load. The useful longitudinal stroke is 59 inches (1500mm), allowing precise machining of long parts. The column clearance is 27.6x26.4 inches (700x670mm). These specifications make it ideal for truck engine heads, large blocks and heavy industrial components that don't fit in smaller milling machines.

The R-8 milling head of the PF-1.5E has 8 speeds divided into two options: first setup with 85-230-320-930 rpm for 2.5hp motor, and second setup with 160-470-650-1890 rpm for 4.0hp motor. The spindle cone is ISO 40 and has maximum tilt of 45° each side. These speeds cover from heavy roughing (low speeds) to fine finishing (high speeds), allowing use of different tool types according to material and operation.

The main difference is in table feed: automatic has 12 gear-driven feed speeds (1.2 to 42.5 IPM or 30 to 1080 mm/min), while manual depends on operator turning handwheels. The PF-1.5E automatic uses 1.0/1.6hp motor to move the table, ensuring constant feed and uniform finish. Manual is cheaper but requires more physical effort and operator skill. For series production or heavy parts, automatic is more efficient and accurate.

The process starts by securing the workpiece on the robust 63x21.7 inch (1600x550mm) table. The R-8 milling head with proper tool rotates at programmed speeds (85 to 1890 rpm). The table moves automatically at selected feed rate (1.2 to 42.5 IPM or 30 to 1080 mm/min) while the tool removes material from surface. Automatic lubrication system protects ways and tools. The crossrail allows vertical adjustment at 8.7 IPM (220 mm/min). Result: flat, parallel surface with finish controlled by speed-feed combination.

Basic maintenance includes daily checking of gearbox oil and automatic lubrication system for ways. Weekly, check belt tension and chip cleaning. Monthly, change hydraulic system oil and verify table alignment. The centralized lubrication pump (optional) greatly facilitates maintenance.
